IFC Just Got 100x Awesomer!
IFC just unveiled it’s new programming slate, which incidentally is made of complete win. Subsequently, their new tagline is “Always On. Slightly Off”; surely this sounds appropriate given that one of their best original comedies is The Whitest Kids U’Know, a very off-color comedy show that is known for such skits as Slow Jerk and Cubicle Boss as well as the hilarious if politically incorrect songs Get A New Daddy and Hitler Rap.
Among their great new additions:
“The Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town” Eight 30-minute episodes. All five original Kids of the sketch comedy troupe reunite for a comical murder-mystery series.
Anyone who loves TWKUK probably grew up on Kids In The Hall to some extent. It’s excellent to see them all back, making us laugh again!
“There Might Be Cake” Comedian Greg Behrendt hosts a weekly chat with famous comedians about their careers and how they’ve achieved success. The guest comedian chooses several of his favorite emerging comics whose performances are highlighted throughout each episode.
As a HUGE fan of The Greg Behrendt Show, I’m excited to see him host another show! He grew to be a fantastic host on TGS (perhaps, combined with his comic wit, one of the best hosts out there) as he honestly cared about each show he did and tackled real relationship and life issues without exploiting the guests or underestimating the intelligence of the viewers (although all the amount of “greg-over”/makeover shows towards the end got a little much - but not nearly as many as the Jenny Jones show in it’s last few years). Hopefully that experience, an uncensored indie-network that is much more conducive to creativity (with no trigger-happy executives all too interested in controlling everything) and a more comedy-oriented format will make this a much bigger success for Greg. He’s great at helping people (like up-and-coming comedians), being compassionate and humble, and being funny. There’s no reason this show shouldn’t rock! :)
“The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” Stars David Cross and Will Arnett in their first project together since the cult-hit “Arrested Development”
Anything with either of these two, much less both of them, is bound to be hilarious and original.
